First Trip!

It’s difficult to do, but this year’s first trip will be to Hanoi, Vietnam for the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2009.  Not a big fan of Indochina myself, this will be sort of a “scouting / discovery” trip for future vacation plans, together with an experienced Hanoi traveller (the diabolical boss).

Will be putting up at the Intercontinenal Hanoi Westlake, set on the banks of Ho Tay Lake overlooking the 800-year-old Golden Lotus Pagoda.

Initial plan was to book the Sofitel Metropole (the grande dame of Hanoi, boss’ favourite hotel) downtown, but their exorbitant rates set us back.

Guess it’s time to load up on them Intercontinental PCR points and Enrich Miles; SPG Platinum and Krisflyer Gold benefits will have to take a back seat on this one.
